Free classic search tool with more features. XSearch is a classic search tool with more features Windows Search does not provide. It works in classic way: no indexing service keeps scanning your files. It supports to search for files by file name, size, date time and words. You can specify the exact size (Byte, KB, MB or GB), exact date and/or time, and different date time (Modified, Created, Last Visited), the word or file name options such as "Any", "All", "Exact phrase", "Without" etc.

My company runs XP Pro on all computers. With service pac 3 loaded, the search function in windows explorer no longer works. Remove service pac 3 and it fixes the issue. With service pac 3, your search software also does not work. Any suggestions?

Very nice search routine. Exactly what I have been looking for, as I haven\'t figured out how to use the search routine in Windows Vista. Search works well and is easy to use. I would recommend one change in future releases: The Search button should be higher up on the screen and stationary, maybe next to the Browse button, so it will always be visible.The first time I started to use XSearch I couldn\'t find how to start searching. I really like XSearch but it has a serious limitation - it doesn't search OpenOffice documents. I hope this will soon be included!

I searched a PDF file available from IBM which is a manual for Unidata, the Unidata command reference. I searched for the commands stopudt & stopud but it could only find stopud. Windows search could not find either....
